About the Job

The University of Minnesota's College of Veterinary Medicine is accepting applications for a short-term temporary position to assist with DVM student dental labs in the Spring 2026 semester.

Lab support will be needed on:

  • February 12, 2026 - 8AM - 5PM
  • February 13, 2026 - 8AM - 5PM

Provide DVM student instruction during dentistry extraction labs - 100%

  • Assist DVM faculty with instructing dentistry extraction wet labs
  • Provide hands-on guidance to veterinary students in extraction techniques
Qualifications

DVM (or equivalent degree), veterinary dentist board certification, active Minnesota Veterinary license in good standing, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills and experience and interest in teaching DVM students.

About the Department

The CVM's Veterinary Clinical Sciences Department advances veterinary medicine through clinical education and mentoring, specialized care of companion animals, and generating new knowledge through clinical research.

  • Teaching
    :
    Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members are responsible for a significant portion of the clinical training program for third- and fourth-year veterinary students, as well as small animal internship and residency programs. Faculty members also participate in the veterinary medicine and comparative and molecular biosciences graduate programs.
  • Research
    :
    Faculty and staff are actively involved in clinical and basic research, as well as specialized programs. Research efforts are supported by the Clinical Investigation Center, which coordinates clinical trials.
  • Service and Outreach
    :
    Veterinary Clinical Sciences faculty members provide collaborative clinical services in the Veterinary Medical Center using cutting-edge equipment and offer consultations and continuing education programs for practicing veterinarians in the community.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $100-$140/hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
