Job Title:

Construction Superintendent Job Description

The Construction Superintendent leads all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents. This role coordinates subcontractors and trades, manages daily field operations, and serves as the primary site leader throughout construction and closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Lead all jobsite operations from mobilization through project completion.
  • Review construction documents prior to work and communicate changes as required.
  • Coordinate temporary site facilities and logistics.
  • Implement and maintain site-specific safety and emergency action plans.
  • Enforce quality control standards and maintain QA/QC documentation.
  • Supervise subcontractors and trades to ensure compliance with contracts and schedule.
  • Maintain daily reports, manpower tracking, and field documentation in the project management system.
  • Conduct and document regular safety meetings.
  • Collaborate weekly with the Project Manager on staffing, schedule, materials, costs, and site issues.
  • Plan and coordinate subcontractor activities using collaborative planning methods.
  • Manage inspections and support completion of requirements for occupancy approval.
  • Maintain and update as-built drawings.
  • Lead punch list preparation, execution, and closeout.
  • Promote lean construction principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Travel to regional and out-of-state project sites as required.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of field supervision experience on commercial or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, and cost control.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with construction software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with lean construction, BIM, or sustainable building practices preferred.
Work Environment

The work environment involves leading construction projects at various sites, requiring travel to regional and out-of-state locations. The role demands adherence to safety protocols and involves working with subcontractors and trades to ensure project goals are met efficiently. The Construction Superintendent is expected to maintain a professional environment that upholds quality, safety, and continuous improvement practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $58.00/hr.
