Thank you for your interest in Women Winning! The Document Retention Intern will be responsible for a special project to manage historical organizational records, ensuring compliance with internal retention policies, implementing retention schedules and advising on the secure storage and disposal of documents. This position helps to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintain efficient operations. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in compliance and archival practices, with both physical and electronic records.
Responsibilities- Review, organize, categorize and archive physical and electronic records
- Set up filing systems and ensure historical records are easily retrievable
- Prepare records for archival or secure destruction
- Document procedures and recommend improvements to records management
- Review and research guidelines for how long different types of documents should be retained, based on legal, regulatory, and business practices
- Protect sensitive information through secure storage and access to documents
- Educate colleagues on proper document handling and retention procedures
- Experience or education in document retention is preferred, but not required

- Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Knowledge of document management systems
- Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements
Hours: Part Time, Project-based, 40-50 hours total
Compensation: $1,000 upon completion of the project
