This position serves as the Compliance Technician within the Compliance, Records, and Training (CRT) unit. The incumbent verifies, serves, tracks, and reconciles penalty assessments, and coordinates closely with Financial Services to support the collections and payment processes. The role also provides administrative and technical support to the Workers’ Compensation Division’s Rehabilitation Review Panel and Workers’ Compensation Insurers Task Force, schedules meetings, prepares agendas and minutes, manages board member appointments, and manages meeting room technology.
Additionally, the unit purchasing coordinator role oversees purchasing activities, budget tracking, and financial coordination for the CRT unit. This position requires independent work with minimal supervision, performing a variety of office and administrative duties to ensure services are delivered and deadlines met in accordance with applicable rules and statutes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook sufficient to compose correspondence and reports, coordinate and schedule meetings, and prepare written materials.
- Data entry skills sufficient to read source documents and enter data, compile and verify data accuracy.
- Database management sufficient to set up and run basic queries, review and analyze data, and identify problem areas.
- Customer service skill sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to stakeholders in person, on the phone and through email.
- Math skill sufficient to complete financial processes such as purchasing, billing, invoicing, refunds and reconciliations.
- Ability to provide training to others within the work unit on program policies, procedures, and standards of administrative materials.
- Proficiency in Campus, Swift, Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms such as Web Ex and Teams.
- Understanding of workers’ compensation statutes, legal terminology, department policies and data privacy requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Language skills other than English (e.g., Somali, Spanish, Hmong, Karen or ASL).
