Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and efficient processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

- Support compliance efforts by preparing documentation for audits and ensuring adherence to financial regulations.

- Manage general ledger activities and oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and tax filings.

- Handle grant accounting tasks, including preparing invoices and reimbursement requests in line with funding requirements.

- Contribute to budgeting processes by developing, monitoring, and updating financial plans.

- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard assets and reduce risks.

- Provide guidance and support to accounting team members, fostering development and ensuring procedural accuracy.

- Perform account reconciliations and identify opportunities for process improvements.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial operations and reporting.

- Lead initiatives to streamline accounting processes and ensure efficiency across operations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5-7 years of advanced accounting experience, with preference for supervisory roles.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quick Books or Sage, and advanced Excel skills.

- Experience with grant accounting and reporting is highly desirable.

- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team setting.
