Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a team in Vadnais Heights, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial transactions and daily cash reconciliations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting practices and be comfortable working either in-office or remotely with their own equipment.

Responsibilities:

- Perform daily cash reconciliations for multiple bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Monitor financial transactions and investigate discrepancies to maintain proper records.

- Handle transactional accounting tasks such as journal entries and general ledger updates.

- Process accounts receivable and manage daily cash receipts efficiently.

- Conduct routine bank reconciliations and support monthly reconciliation processes.

- Collaborate on special accounting projects as needed to improve workflow and accuracy.

- Analyze cash transitions to determine what can and cannot be reconciled.

- Manage a high volume of financial items, typically ranging from 15-20 daily transactions.

- Utilize accounting software such as Net Suite, if applicable, to streamline processes.

- Maintain organized financial records and assist with audits when required.

Requirements - Proven experience in transactional accounting, including journal entries and general ledger work.

- Strong skills in cash reconciliations and bank reconciliation processes.

- Familiarity with accounts receivable and daily cash receipt handling.

- Competence in using accounting software; experience with Net Suite is preferred but not mandatory.

- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a structured environment.

- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

- Capable of managing a consistent workload of static daily tasks alongside project-based work.

- Flexibility to work on-site or remotely, provided proper equipment is available.
