Position:
Senior Accountant / Accounting Supervisor
Location: Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote
Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000 annually, plus benefits

About the Opportunity:
A growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their accounting and finance team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of month-end close, oversee key accounting functions, and gain exposure to both nonprofit and for-profit operations. The role is designed for someone who can grow into higher-level leadership responsibilities, with the potential for succession into a Director of Finance role in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and perform the full cycle month-end close process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

• Prepare and maintain financial statements and ensure accuracy for audit readiness

• Manage allocation of operating costs across multiple programs and entities

• Oversee grant management accounting, including recording grants, funder billings, and compliance with reporting requirements

• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasts, and budget-to-actual reporting

• Collaborate with consultants and internal team members on system improvements and process enhancements

• Support implementation and maintenance of accounting systems, including chart of accounts updates and reporting tools

• Provide guidance and review work of other accounting team members as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• CPA or public accounting experience strongly preferred

• 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit accounting and grant management

• Proven experience in month-end close and full cycle accounting

• Familiarity with allocations, budget management, and audit preparation

• Strong technical skills with accounting systems and Excel; experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge or similar systems a plus
