We’re partnering with a rapidly scaling manufacturer transitioning from a pilot plant to full commercial production. The company is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager with strong government contracting, technical accounting, and compliance expertise to support this critical growth phase.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who wants ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to build and strengthen a government-compliant accounting function from the ground up.
What You’ll DoTechnical Accounting (Government-Focused)
- Apply US GAAP, FAR, and CAS across all accounting activities.
- Prepare technical memos for key transactions and government contract requirements.
- Support indirect rate management, allowable cost decisions, and incurred cost submissions.
- Maintain internal controls for federal compliance.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close
- Oversee the General Ledger and Balance Sheet accuracy.
- Lead financial statement preparation and federal contract reporting.
- Manage month-end close (cash, accruals, reconciliations, AP/AR review).
- Monitor spend, coding accuracy, and adherence to internal policies.
- Prepare monthly management schedules and assist with budgeting.
- Lead audit preparation and serve as primary contact for auditors.
- Manage indirect rates, billing, and revenue recognition under federal contracts.
- Prepare audit-ready documentation for DCAA/DCMA reviews.
- Ensure compliance with cost principles and contract requirements.
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Manage and mentor accounting staff.
- Partner across departments to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Bachelor’s in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 7+ years of technical accounting experience with government contracting.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, FAR, CAS, indirect rates, and federal reporting.
- Month-end close leadership and internal financial reporting experience.
- Experience with government ERP systems (Dynamics 365 a plus).
- Strong communication, analysis, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, scaling environment.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information.
- $145,000–$165,000 base salary
