The Accounts Payable Accounting Analyst role is an AMAZING opportunity for the college-educated, system-savvy, entrepreneurial-spirited, numbers-loving professional! This role is open due to the evolution of a long-standing, respected company in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. This manufacturing company was purchased a couple of years back by a private equity-backed firm, bringing multiple companies together as one. The company is transforming and implementing best practices and process improvements.

This includes strategically bringing all the companies onto one platform and utilizing created Accounting Shared Service hubs. The main focus of your day-to-day functions will be focused on procure-to-payment of vendor invoices. The chosen candidate comes with accounts payable experience, exceptional Excel and Data Analytics, embraces change, is a sponge and thrives by soaking in the current processes, takes good notes, learns, evolves, recommends process improvements, and take on additional challenges/accountabilities as the company expands to other sites in the United States.

Responsibilities

Support and partner with the site's Accounting Supervisor-providing your accounts payable, accounting, analytical, and data analytics skills as the company continues the transformation to shared service hubs across the US. The company is in growth and process improvement mode due to being purchased by a Private Equity Firm a few years back

  • Utilize your exceptional Excel skills, system skills, and accounting software skills daily
  • Accountable for processing from procurement to payment between 100-200 invoices per week
  • Receive, review, and process invoices from vendors accurately and promptly, ensuring appropriate approvals are received
  • Audit the flow through invoices for accuracy
  • Maintain the proper approvals of invoices to initiate payment
  • Prepare payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer
  • Maintain vendor accounts, including verifying vendor information, updating records, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Support the month-end activity
  • Prepare monthly accruals
  • Prepare bank and general account reconciliations
  • Identify areas of process improvement and work closely with the Accounting Supervisor to implement those changes
  • Evolve and take on additional accounting responsibilities as the position evolves from a 3-plant operation to a multi-national plant operation
