Grinding Operator

Job Summary- 3rd shift

The Grinding Operator is responsible for setting up and operating grinding equipment to produce precision parts according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, commitment to safety, and the ability to maintain quality and productivity standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will support production goals and work collaboratively with team members.

• Set up, adjust, and operate grinding machines to grind external or internal surfaces of metal parts to print specifications.
• Follow work orders, blueprints, and documented procedures to determine grinding sequences, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
• Load and unload parts, position work pieces, and secure them on fixtures or chucks.
• Monitor grinding operations and machine performance throughout the shift.
• Measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges; verify conformance to specifications.
• Inspect finished parts and report any defects or non-conforming materials.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance, including dressing wheels, cleaning machinery, and changing worn grinding wheels.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
• Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety protocols.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members about production issues, quality concerns, and maintenance needs.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in manufacturing or machining.
• Experience operating grinding machines or similar precision equipment is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job orders.
• Proficiency with measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety.
• Physical ability to lift moderate weights and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer skills for recording production data may be required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work independently.
