Job Description SummaryThe Supervisor, Delivery Service Excellence is responsible for overseeing, evaluating, enhancing, and leading improvements within the Delivery Department. Duties include providing collective guidance to the delivery supervisory team and specific directions to Drivers, Routing, Safety, and compliance. This role will review routes, route plans, stop types, service times, classifications, driver performance, and delivery frequency to create optimized distribution plans.

- Ensure market is optimizing the distribution of products and resources.
- Monitor and evaluate actual versus predicted routing, determine root causes of issues and propose/lead recommendations and implementation of resolutions.
- Complete pre and post shift reviews with each driver.
- Act as liaison between field delivery supervisors, drivers, sales leaders, and routing team.
- Communicate proactively with Drivers to ensure adherence to daily distribution schedules and that the department meets performance goals.
- Assist in direction of Delivery Supervisors in field, guiding them for support, training, and information validation or investigation as needed.
- Review distribution productivity reporting with the appropriate supervisor, suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with implementation of distribution changes.
- Monitor delivery fleet using Omni Tracs, Samsara, Roadnet and/or other delivery/routing software.
- Recommend performance management actions including selection and hiring, transferring, and discharging, the assignment of work, or progressive discipline.
- Review driver attendance and work records.
- Review and verify driver DOT qualifications and advise delivery supervisors of compliance needs.
- Interpret and consistently apply company policies, protocols and procedures including DOT, record keeping, performance expectations and safe work methods.
- Contribute to DOT compliance, including DOT safety requirements and DOT drug screening.
- Oversee or aide in timely and accurate verification and processing of daily delivery driver invoices, associated paperwork, returns and collections.
- Act as customer and sales interface to identify opportunities, resolve issues or discrepancies and create a cohesive relationship.
- Foster and maintain a collaborative relationship with sales, warehouse, delivery and customer service departments to resolve all customer or distribution opportunities.
- Execute scheduled daily communications to Operations and Market Commercial Leadership.
- Supervise proper selection and utilization of company assets in support of the Distribution department and coordinate required repairs with proper departments as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor may also be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, management, communications, or related field and/or equivalent training and work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a fast‑paced, high‑volume distribution environment.
- Advanced PC skills using MS Office and other computer programs including presentation software.
- Results‑oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills, diplomacy, discretion and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi‑task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines.
- Highly organized with exceptional analytic and reporting skills.
- Ability to think creatively, identify and propose solutions to drive performance improvement.
- Utilize sound judgement and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume team environment.
- Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and state regulations pertaining to transportation, including vehiclesafety, driver hours, safety and other relevant areas.
- Experience using Microsoft software platforms and industry platforms (Omnitracs, Samsara, Roadnet, SAP, etc.).
