Forklift Operator​/Barge Deckhand

We are currently seeking candidates for a Forklift Operator/Barge Deckhand to join our JB Terminal location in St. Louis. This is a unique opportunity to work on land and water at a barge operation performing a wide array of tasks, often utilizing a fork truck or assisting with general labor tasks. This is a full time, Monday through Friday, day shift position, with occasional Saturdays and overtime required.

Our ideal candidate would have experience in both barge operations and forklift training -- however we are happy to train as long as you have experience in either one of the aforementioned areas. Work ethic and attendance is not trainable, so please be sure you possess those attributes before applying.

Forklift Operator/Barge Deckhand Major responsibilities include:

* Working around water at depths up to 50 feet

* Able to climb a ladder up to 20 feet

* Remove and replace barge lids

* Sweeping, shoveling and general cleaning related to barge unloading

* Rigging of cargo

* Unloading cargo from a barge to a storage area or customer trucks

* Complete necessary paperwork accurately and legibly

* Operating a fork truck while moving product throughout facility

Forklift Operator/Barge Deckhand candidate requirements:

* Safety-focused

* Experience in operating a forklift and skid steer

* Light Mechanical Skills

* Self-motivated

* Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
