Electrical Inspector
Location: North County Satellite Office, Lindbergh & St. Charles Rock Road
Salary: Typical starting range around $24.00 hourly, depending on qualifications and experience.

- Inspect and evaluate electrical construction and installation by making detailed examinations of electrical systems and equipment, materials, methods, and practices used; prepare accurate reports, maintain records, prepare violation notices and testify in court.
- Enforce codes and ordinances for electrical construction and installation.
- Communicate inspection findings to appropriate parties.
- Perform related work as required.
- At least five years of increasingly responsible work experience in the electrical trade or completion of a formal course of training as an electrician apprentice.
- Equivalent combination of training and professional work experience considered.
- Applicant work experience section of application must include names and dates of specific employers.
Current, valid driver's license required.
Selection and Appointment- Selection committee evaluates applicants based on education, experience, supplemental answers, references and other criteria.
- Only applicants meeting most job‑related qualifications admitted to interview.
- Interview accounts for 100% of applicant's grade; a qualifying grade of 70 or more is required.
- Selected candidates receive instruction to complete a Conviction Questionnaire within 3 days.
- Top five candidates are certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority.
- Conditional offers require urine screening for illegal drug use; cost covered by the County.
