Field Technician (6-Month Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Majority of the work is between St Louis and Kansas City, MO.
Pay: Up to $29/hour DOE
Schedule: Full-time, some travel required but the majority of the work is in Chicagoland area.

About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Field Technician to join our client’s team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This position supports wireless cell site construction and related telecommunications infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with small cell installations (Ericsson equipment preferred) and is comfortable working outdoors with tools, equipment, and machinery in all weather conditions.

What You’ll Do- Perform construction activities including new site builds, site modifications, small cell installations, AAV installations, DAS installations, and routine site maintenance.
- Install conduit, vaults, racks, connectors, and pull string; perform site trenching, decommissioning, and COAX/Fiber testing.
- Safely operate construction machinery and equipment (training provided).
- Prepare materials, trucks, and equipment for scheduled deployments.
- Submit daily progress reports and communicate any issues or delays to the Construction Manager.
- Complete customer‑specific photo checklists and ensure sites are organized, clean, and ready for inspection.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of telecommunications field or cell site construction experience
- Strong understanding of and adherence to electrical safety standards
- Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record
- Ability to travel frequently (primarily between St. Louis and Kansas City, MO, but some nationwide support may be needed)
- FTTH (Fiber to the Home) experience
- Anritsu testing experience or training
- Ability to read and follow construction documents, MOPs, and BOMs
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment
- Desire to learn new skills and grow professionally
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to operate machinery such as forklifts, skid steers, and bucket trucks (training provided)
- Pay up to $29/hour
, depending on experience - Company-provided truck and fuel card or vehicle stipend.
- Paid lodging for overnight travel
- $40/day food per diem when traveling overnight
