Responsibilities
  • Perform mid-level splicing functions for aerial, underground, and ISP cable routing on various projects.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret construction prints, drawings, and splice matrixes to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
  • Determine equipment needs, cable route, cable direction, safety best practices, and perform splicing functions within a live customer facility.
  • Independently and safely perform mid‑sheath cable entry using proper tools.
  • Perform mid‑level single and/or ribbon splices with the understanding of large cable count numbering.
  • Read/process test results and problem‑solve basic issues identified during troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in mid‑level OTDR and power meter testing.
  • Install and/or research installation procedures for all splice enclosures.
  • Perform basic cable relocations and hot cuts while maintaining cable organization.
  • Communicate with internal (training peers) and external stakeholders (customers, subcontractors, etc.), addressing issues as they arise and offering customer‑centric solutions.
  • Respond timely to critical situations and emergency outages with an appropriate level of urgency.
  • Maintain full understanding of safety risks while working in a safety‑sensitive position, adhering to all safety requirements and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions such as sitting, squatting, standing, walking, climbing, etc.
  • May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels while onsite.
  • When working on site, required to wear protective safety equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel‑toed boots.
Experience and Education
  • 1–5 years of experience performing fiber‑optic cable splicing projects required.
  • OSHA 10 certification (or ability to acquire within 6 months) required.
  • First‑aid and/or CPR certifications preferred.
  • Valid driver license with ability to obtain a DOT medical card required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

The starting pay for this position is $22.00 per hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
