** JOB SUMMARY
** The Security Officer (unarmed) performs duties that ensure the safety and security of the Saint Louis University community members by performing security duties at specifically assigned posts.
** PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
*** Controls access to the building in compliance with policy and process
* Monitors and reports all conditions that create security or safety hazards for building occupants and guests
* Assists in building occupants and guests as required while complying with established policies and processes
* Performs other duties as assigned
** KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
*** Knowledge of security reporting and procedures
* Knowledge of general security functions and procedures
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to work assigned schedule
* Ability to maintain honesty, integrity, confidentiality, and professional relationships
** MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
*** High School Diploma or the equivalent
* One to two years related experience
* Successful completion of a drug screen & background check
* Must possess or be able to obtain upon hire an unarmed security/officer license with St. Louis City/County Police Private Security Division; must maintain Licensure throughout the tenure of the position
* Must be 21 years of age
