The Chen Ultrasound Lab in the Department of Neurological Surgery with WashU Medicine has an opening for a motivated Staff Scientist. The lab combines engineering, biology, and medicine to develop innovative focused ultrasound techniques to improve the lives of patients with brain disease.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Design research protocols, including procedures for collecting, verifying, and managing data.
- Assist with grant preparation and reporting.
- Perform complex statistical analysis of collected data, write interpretative reports, verify data correctness, and make recommendations.
- Document research topics and prepare/submission of papers to publications and committees.
- Resolve practical problems related to equipment or test subjects and suggest technical or procedural improvements.
- Conduct literature searches related to research projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.
- Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals.
- Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
- Laboratory Operations: 3 Years
No specific certification or professional license is required for this position.
Driver's LicenseA driver's license is not required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications- Ph.D. – Doctor of Philosophy.
- Analytical Problem Solving, Communication, Computer Literacy, Data Analysis, Data Interpretation.

Salary Range$48,000.00 – $86,900.00 per annum.
