Overview
Beacon Medaes is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Medical and Laboratory Piped Equipment Sales Representative to develop and expand our medical and laboratory gas business within the responsible territory. This role involves promoting Beacon Medaes products, services, and solutions while driving revenue growth and achieving established sales targets. The position focuses on building strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and representing Beacon Medaes with professionalism and technical expertise.
The role will be based in St. Louis, MO.
ResponsibilitiesProduct Sales (90%)
- Prospect, source, and maintain quality customers in the assigned area.
- Achieve or exceed sales goals by developing action plans and schedules to identify specific sales prospects, targets, and/or markets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Manage, call on, and sell products directly to customers in the assigned area.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Establish rapport and maintain regular contact with existing and new customers (particularly key accounts).
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
- Introduce new products. Study customer needs and coordinate customer service.
- Actively engage in planned prospecting activities to increase the customer base.
- Provide in-service training to customers.
- Obtain, develop or prepare, deliver, and present sales materials, exhibits, lunch-n-learn, training and promotional programs.
- Participate in professional organizations and attend exhibits, conferences, meetings, presentations and other promotional opportunities.
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, pricing, and credit terms to customers.
- Oversee customer services through quality checks and other follow-up; identify and resolve customer concerns.
- Maintain a professional image and enhance the division and company reputation and brand image by implementing core values of commitment, interaction, and innovation.
- Manage and coordinate business with Beacon Medaes manufacturer reps in the assigned territory, including coordination of efforts of all personnel in the territory, reporting on sales, marketing & growth activities, periodic reviews of activities with the rep, and supporting the rep activities related to Beacon Medaes.
- Support and consult with medical/life sciences design engineers in the territory through education, product specifications, sizing, and code requirements.
- Communicate and develop relationships with local Service Sales Representatives and Service Technicians to increase revenues and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Take all actions necessary to get the job done and maintain communications with all people involved in this mission.
Personal Development (5%)
- Continuously update job knowledge (products, sales/marketing strategies, codes, design and skills) through educational opportunities, reading, networking, and professional organizations.
Reporting (5%)
- Prepare reports relative to activity, lost orders, closings, follow-up, and performance against budget.
- Report on special developments, information, or feedback from field activity, including recommendations for product, service, pricing changes and evaluation of competitive developments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsExperience:
- 3 years of relevant technical sales experience, preferably in the Medical or Laboratory Gas Industry
Education:
- Four-year degree in engineering, business or marketing or equivalent
Skills:
- NFPA
99 knowledge as it pertains to medical gas applications. - Estimation as it pertains to medical gas installation drawings.
- Technical knowledge of medical gas pipeline and source equipment is helpful but not required.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
- Team building with a positive attitude and a strong desire to achieve success.
- Proven business analysis skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Travel: This role requires up to 75% travel. Occasional overnight travel will also be necessary.
