Job OverviewWe are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable numismatics enthusiast to join our coin department. In this role, you'll inventory, assess, and strategize the sale of collectible coins, currency, and precious metals—either in bulk or individually online. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, goal-oriented individuals with a knack for building relationships and driving sales. This position offers significant potential for residual income and career advancement.
We are flexible with part-time (10-28 hours/week) or full-time schedules, based on your experience and availability.
- Procure, research, sort, and appraise collectible coins, currency, precious metals, and related artifacts, handling inventories valued at multi-million dollars annually.
- Use technical grading knowledge to organize, price, catalog, and track inventory for optimal sales.
- Strategize and execute sales of lots in bulk or individually via online platforms (e.g., eBay, Etsy, Live Auctioneers, social media) and auctions.
- Cultivate and expand relationships with high-net-worth collectors, investors, and wholesale vendors to retain and grow business.
- Provide expert consultations to retail customers on rare coins, bullion, paper money, gold, and silver products.
- Collaborate with the team to meet or exceed departmental goals, including inventory management and sales targets.
- At least 3 years of experience in numismatics (coins, currency, or precious metals) or equivalent knowledge; brokers with an existing book of business are highly encouraged to apply.
- Numismatic certifications (e.g., from ANA, PCGS, or NGC) are a plus but not required.
- Moderate computer skills, including proficiency with inventory software, online auction platforms, and basic e-commerce tools.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and visual acuity for identifying fine print, hallmarks, and authenticity markers.
- Solid interpersonal and customer service skills, with experience in buying/selling preferred (but not required).
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to self-direct and achieve goals independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
