Overview

Position Summary... What youll do:
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Facilitates change initiatives, communicates business objectives to teams, and models exceptional customer service standards to store associates using the OBW service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, resolves customer needs and issues, and leads process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance of the designated store area by reviewing PL statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses, ensuring alignment with sales. Oversees merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, operational processes, and implements action plans to mitigate shrink while achieving sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations, recognizing performance, and promoting a culture of belonging. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs.

Ensures compliance with company policies and supports mission, values, ethics and integrity; promotes an Open Door Policy and guides application of these in business processes and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams, teach and listen to associates, tour stores, provide feedback, and communicate business objectives across all levels.
  • Model exceptional customer service standards and manage customer service initiatives and community programs; resolve customer issues and drive continuous improvement to quality of service.
  • Drive store-area financial performance by reviewing Profit & Loss, budgeting and forecasting, controlling expenses, and ensuring actions align with sales and profit goals.
  • Oversee merchandising presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; implement action plans to mitigate shrink.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates: hiring, training, mentoring, setting expectations, recognizing performance, and promoting belonging.
  • Coordinate activities with key stakeholders; identify goals, measure progress, and communicate results; adapt to opportunities and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure policy compliance and support the company mission, values, ethics and integrity; apply Open Door Policy in daily operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications:

    2 years of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.
  • For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of CBC and Firearms Authorized Training; for facilities selling only ammunition, may require a state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Associates must attend and complete job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; or Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising 5+ direct reports including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
