Job Summary

Flik Hospitality Group invites you to work as the Sous Chef at the Charles

F. Knight Conference Center. You will be responsible for the successful operation of the Culinary Department, assisting in supervision, preparation, and cooking of various food items, developing daily menu items and their preparation and garnishment. You may supervise hourly associates and collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menus, assist with ordering, and manage cost controls.

$60,000 – $65,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account.
• Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus.
• Produce and execute catering events.
• Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and the historic[c]nary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience, depending upon formal degree or training.
• Experience in catering and high-volume, complex food service operations.
• Institutional and batch cooking experience helpful.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail Representatives, and the Internet.
• Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities.
• Serv Safe certification highly desirable.
