Job SummaryThe Quality Director is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of PARIC’s quality management system, monitoring and implementing all aspects of quality control and inspection associated with its general construction projects. The Quality Director will also be responsible for tracking and monitoring data to determine needs for focused training and continuous quality improvement across all business sectors. This position will lead the growth of PARIC’s Quality Management Team, develop the support systems, and set the programs and expectations for successful project team execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of PARIC’s Quality Management Program across all projects and sectors.
- Lead constructability reviews for preconstruction to early identify and mitigate quality issues and warranty management.
- Conduct regular quality assurance check‑ins on projects to monitor progress and compliance. Issue and follow up on observation reports, address challenges, and provide ongoing support.
- Champion a culture of quality, continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Direct the development and enhancement of PARIC’s quality standards, policies and procedures.
- Oversee the PARIC Quality Management Program over all phases of construction including preconstruction, construction and closeout.
- Partner with leadership and project teams to develop and approve site‑specific quality plans (SSQPs).
- Maintain a strong understanding of project performance in relation to PARIC quality management objectives and identify areas of concern and/or improvement.
- Serve as a sponsor for all pre‑installation meetings of all critical construction activities.
- Support building enclosure coordination meetings and provide support to the project teams.
- Perform preconstruction plan reviews.
- Assist project teams with internal performance testing.
- Provide support to the project teams with resolution of any warranty issues.
- Lead investigations into quality issues, latent defects, etc., and coordinate with risk management.
- Lead internal communications related to quality activities and initiatives.
- Define training strategy and identify both short and long‑term training needs, and provide training directly to PARIC personnel.
- Evaluate and implement new technology, systems, etc. to support PARIC quality management initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of combined experience in quality management, superintendent, project management, project engineering or similar roles.
- Technical competence in building enclosure, concrete, finishes, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), BIM 360, etc.
- Advanced certifications (ex. CQM‑C, CQA, CQE, LEED Accreditation or related certification).
- Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building and managing cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage conflict and drive resolution.
- Deep knowledge of construction quality standards, codes, and best practices.
- Experience implementing or managing digital quality management systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Prior experience working with large‑scale commercial construction projects.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and reach with hands and arms.
- Required to use tools, equipment, materials, and testing devices safely and effectively, including the ability to climb up and down ladders as needed.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
