Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital is seeking an ER Nurse to join our team and make a difference in critical moments. Our ER team emphasizes collaboration, clear communication and a commitment to providing the highest level of care quickly and effectively. The ER Nurse will work with physicians, fellow nurses, and medical staff to ensure seamless patient treatment, prioritize tasks in a fast-moving environment, and support and comfort patients and families during urgent medical situations.

Barnes Jewish West County Hospital is a new state-of-the-art facility opened for patient care in November 2019. We are looking for Registered Nurses who can become part of a learning and growing team.
Role PurposeProvides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
