Essential Function Examples- Perform diagnostic, health assessment, and patient care management duties.
- Review patient charts and follow up.
- Provide education to patients and staff.
- Requires registration as a Registered Nurse and advanced training and experience acquired through a Nurse Practitioner program in relevant specialty area and three years of related experience.
- Some positions require licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State of Missouri.
- Some positions require certification as an Adult Medical Nurse Practitioner (ANP) by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
- Some positions require certification as an Obstetrical and Gynecological Nurse Practitioner or equivalent.
- Some positions require certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
- Some positions require certification as a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner.
- Some positions require certification as a Diabetic Educator by the American Diabetic Association.
- Some positions require Document of Recognition as an Advance Practice Nurse (APN) by the Missouri State Board of Nursing.
A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant and admit to interview only those persons who possess the most job‑related qualifications. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. Candidates must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews, candidates will complete a Conviction Questionnaire. The top‑ranking candidates will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority for a final decision.
Conditional merit‑position offers require urinalysis screening for illegal drug use before appointment, covered by the County.
All newly hired employees must provide proof of COVID‑19 vaccination before starting service. Acceptable proof includes CDC vaccination cards, health‑provider documentation, electronic health records, or state immunization records. Employees may request an exemption for medical or religious reasons and, if granted, will be required to wear facial coverings and submit to weekly testing.
