Registered Nurse - Stepdown
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc.
TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a competent and compassionate Registered Nurse - Stepdown to provide care to patients who are transitioning from intensive care but still require close monitoring. The Stepdown RN plays a critical role in patient recovery, ensuring continuity of care between ICU and general med-surg units.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patients with complex or evolving health conditions, often requiring telemetry or continuous observation.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as prescribed.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to clinical changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and allied health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, discharge plans, and home care instructions.
- Provide emotional support and maintain a calm, therapeutic environment during transitions in care.
- Active RN license in good standing.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in stepdown, telemetry, ICU, or med-surg nursing.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- Strong clinical judgment and familiarity with high-acuity patient care.
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and emergency response protocols.
