About Bio Life Plasma Services:

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the Role
  • Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including the development of Center Physician standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when needing to provide unacceptable findings to donors or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance when appropriate.
  • Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community.
How you will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent.
  • Conduct physical examinations and blood testing.
  • Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies.
  • Communicate unacceptable findings to donors and coordinate care.
  • Support employee vaccination and incident management.
  • Assist with pandemic coordination and community investigations.
What you bring to Takeda
  • High school diploma or recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN.
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
