Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Oncology

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Oncology position requiring a MO or compact RN license and chemotherapy certification.

Job Details

• Work in an outpatient oncology setting at a short-term acute care hospital,

• Patient population includes oncology patients with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:20,

• Day shifts only with scheduled hours between 7:30am and 5:30pm, Monday through Friday,

• No weekends or holiday shifts required,

• Floating required to other oncology locations within the region as needed,

• Uses EPIC for charting,

Job Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration,

• BLS certification and chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required,

• Minimum of 2 years RN experience required,

• Proficiency in chemotherapy administration techniques, including IV push and continuous infusion,

• Central line certification is required,

• EPIC experience may be required for certain units,

• No local candidates within a 75-mile radius will be considered,

• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler,

Additional Information

• Duties include administration and monitoring of chemotherapy, handling body fluids post-chemotherapy, cytotoxic spill management, and port access for lab draws and dressing changes,

• Must recognize and communicate abnormal lab values promptly,

• Orientation provided at the main facility with required pre-start modules,

• Navy and white scrubs required,

• Paid parking available for a monthly fee; orientation parking is not reimbursed,

• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract and none during the first week of orientation,

• Contract attendance expectations allow no more than 3 tardies and 2 call-ins per 13-week contract,

• Travelers may stay up to 18 months before a required 3-month break,
