Position Details
The Stroke Coordinator is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to stroke patients. This role involves providing personalized support to patients entering and exiting the healthcare system following ischemic or hemorrhagic strokes.
Responsibilities- Offer clinical expertise for patient care and ensuring continuity of care.
- Educate patients and families about stroke care.
- Foster collaboration among the multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards.
- Graduate from a school of nursing is required.
- 1 year of experience in acute care is required.
- Active RN (Registered Nurse) license in state of practice is required.
- Annual stroke education hours and competencies.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
- NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale).
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Neurological care experience preferred.
- Stroke certifications preferred (SCRN).
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
