Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Step Down position requiring a MO or compact license, with strong skills in critical care and telemetry.

• Work in the Step Down Unit of an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts per week from 19:00 to 07:30
• Patient ratio is 1:4
• Floating required to lower acuity units within the hospital as needed
• Weekend shifts required: two shifts every other weekend, with night shifts scheduled as Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday
• EMR system used is Epic and prior Epic experience is required
• Responsibilities include management of titratable vasopressors, sedation medications, insulin drips, ventilated patients with tracheostomies, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes
• Adhere to navy scrub color requirements
• Permanent former employees must be separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months at the facility and must take a 3-month break before returning
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed per 13-week contract with no RTO during the first week of orientation
• Fit testing required; facial hair must allow for proper testing
• No parking cost for staff

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent step down or similar critical care bedside experience required, with bedside experience within the past 6 months
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Not accepting first-time travelers for this position
• Candidates must complete pre-employment labs and modules as instructed
