The Intensive Care Unit at BJWCH is a 4-bed ICU environment for patients needing critical care support after medical conditions or surgical procedures. The unit team also serves as members of the clinical emergency response team for the hospital. ICU patients may require ICU-level care and intermediate/step-down services. There is a clear path for growth into a Team Lead/Charge Nurse role as the unit, and the hospital, continue to grow.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on managing illness or injury, post-treatment home care needs, and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family/caregiver, in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and communicates the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Assesses and evaluates physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Considers patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- Performs as a safety-sensitive position in accordance with organizational requirements. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is essential.

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Relevant nursing experience as applicable
