Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN with a MO or compact license, ACLS/BLS certifications, and at least 2 years of experience for a night shift position.
Responsibilities- Work in a stepdown unit within a short-term acute care, Magnet-designated Level I Trauma Center
- Night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts weekly (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Weekend shifts are required every other weekend
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs may be required
- Patients commonly undergo procedures such as CABG, MVR, AVR, aortic aneurysm repair, TAVR, heart transplant, and LVAD implant
- Uses Epic EMR, prior Epic experience required for certain units
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Role involves caring for post-cardiac surgery and complex surgical patients including those with advanced cardiac devices
- Team-based environment with interdisciplinary support
- No on-call required for this position
- Only up to 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off permitted during first week of orientation
- Travelers may be eligible to extend up to an 18-month period, with a 3-month break required after 18 months
- Night shift role may include some holiday coverage as assigned
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Active MO or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years recent stepdown experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
- Epic charting experience preferred; required for certain units
- Applicants must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
- No previous permanent employment within the past year at the associated health system
