Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Step Down position in an acute care hospital, requiring a MO or compact RN license and expertise with vasopressor titration.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Step Down Unit of an acute care hospital

• Night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30

• Patient ratio is 1:4

• Required to work 2 shifts every other weekend

• Float to lower acuity units as needed

• Utilizes Epic EMR system

• Specialized procedures include titration of vasopressors, sedation medication, insulin drips, trach vents, arterial lines, external pacemakers, and chest tubes

• Navy scrubs are required for this position

• No on-call requirement

• No locals accepted (must live more than 75 miles away)

• No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract, and no time off during the first week of orientation

• Permanent employees must wait one year before returning as a traveler

• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months with a required 3-month break after this period

• Free parking is available onsite

• Testing modules and orientation are provided before start

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required

• Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale

• Minimum of 2 years recent bedside RN experience, including step down experience within the last 6 months

• Epic charting experience required

• Not open to first-time travelers

• Candidate must reside outside of a 75-mile radius
