Registered Nurse (RN) – First Assistant Who We Are

Mercy OR conducts a variety of cases including Orthopedics, Neurology, General Services. RNs are typically hired into one of these specialty pods and may have the opportunity to cross‑train to other pods in the department.

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients.
• Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers.
• Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
• Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
• Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
• Practices perioperative nursing and first or second assists the surgeon in the operating room (activities supervised by a surgeon).

Seeking RNFA Experience! Must have at least 2 years’ intra‑operative experience. Full‑time days.

• Licensure: RN license in the state of MO.
• Experience:
  
  minimum of 2 years intra‑operative experience.
• Certifications:
  • CNOR and RN‑First Assistant class required within one year of hire/transfer.
  • BLS/ACLS required within first year.
• Preferred Education:
  
  BSN degree.
• Preferred
  
  Certifications:
  
  CNOR, CRNFA.
