- Adult Acute Care NP Licensure or Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care NP Licensure – Strongly Preferred
This position is on a Multidisciplinary Team but your focus will be on Post Heart Failure Service, LVAD and Cardiac Transplant patient population. You will be expected to do rounds, see consultations, and help facilitate care of LVAD/post cardiac transplant patients and patient education, while working collaboratively with Washington University Cardiologists.
OverviewThe nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working in a multidisciplinary health team to provide care to patients and families across subspecialty practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise with acute and chronic illnesses encountered within the inpatient and outpatient subspecialty settings. The role demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, and systems‑based practice.
They work with staff, nurses, physicians, and medical/surgical trainees to assure safe, effective, quality patient care.
Minimum Board Certification(s):
- BJH:
Adult‑Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Adult‑Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP), Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) - SLCH:
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (CPNP‑PC), Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP‑AC), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

- Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
- Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
- Provides patient‑ and family‑centered care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for health recovery, illness prevention, disease treatment, or end‑of‑life care.
- Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for subspecialty patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
