ResponsibilitiesProvides basic nursing care by assessing residents on admission and throughout their stay, communicating significant condition changes to the interdisciplinary team (IDT), documenting assessments, seeking guidance when necessary, participating in care planning, updating plans when interventions indicate revision, and communicating the plan to IDT members, residents, and families. Implements nursing interventions, including medication administration and treatments, while ensuring safety and timeliness;
administers IV fluids only if IV certified; documents interventions accurately and promptly; applies critical thinking to residents’ condition changes; notifies physicians using SBARR; maintains composure during crisis situations; monitors care delivery effectiveness; identifies problem areas and uses the QAPI process for immediate resolution; remains alert to residents’ status and potential behavioral changes; answers call lights and assists with ADLs as needed;
completes at least 12 hours of nursing continuing education; keeps current with best practices through Bethesda’s policies and self‑study. May be assigned additional duties as appropriate.
- Education from an accredited nursing school resulting in a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Experience in long‑term care, rehab, or assisted living preferred.
- Current LPN license in the state of employment.
- IV certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
- CPR/AED certification required or willing to obtain within six months of employment.
- Ability to assess basic nursing care needs of geriatric residents.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with residents, visitors, and staff.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
$26.96 – $43.95 per hour (LPN/RN)
