ICU Registered Nurse - Nights

Overview

Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment. The facility has 96 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, and four intensive care unit rooms, designed to provide a comforting, innovative and efficient patient experience.

• 12‑hour Night Shifts, Full Time
• ICU experience required

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and families on managing illness, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family, ensuring communication across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Considers patient preferences, barriers, values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely – a safety‑sensitive position.

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Education:
  
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Clinical experience:
  No required experience, but ICU experience required.
• Effective communication skills, teamwork, and critical thinking.

• RN license.
• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree.

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
