Open position at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital, Main Campus, Operating Room Pod 3. Pay range: $30.00/hr – $47.28/hr.

Additional Information About The Role

• CT and vascular position
• 3/12 hour shifts (10:30 A – 11:00 P)
• 13 Operating Rooms
• 3–4 weekday call shifts and one weekend per 6‑week schedule
• 1 holiday/yr rotating Winter/Spring
• OR experience preferred
• Cardiac services include minimally invasive, heart failure, and heart transplants; thoracic, robotic and lung transplants plus vascular and endovascular surgery.

Role purpose:
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing care standards.

• Promotes patient‑ and family‑centered care in a healing environment; educates patients and families on illness or injury management, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patients/families. Proactively plans and ensures communication across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care, considering patient preferences and barriers.
• Position is safety‑sensitive; requires constant alertness and safe work practices.
