RN Case Manager - Barnes-Jewish Hospital

Location:

One Barnes Jewish Hospital Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63110. This position is onsite.

Pay

Base pay range: $32.80/hr – $50.39/hr.

Additional Information About

The Role
  • PRN; 2 shifts every four weeks.
  • 8‑hour shifts with start times at 7 a.m. or 8 a.m. (flexibility required).
  • No weekends or holidays.
Additional Preferred Requirements
  • At least 2 years of RN experience (ideally inpatient).
  • BSN.
  • Prior case‑management experience.
Overview

Barnes‑Jewish Hospital, part of Washington University Medical Center, is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked among the nation’s top hospitals. The Case Management Services (CM) reports through the Division of Patient Care Services and includes Case Management, Utilization Management and Social Work. The goal is to provide access to care and safe discharge plans across the BJH continuum.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    2–5 years RN, preferably in inpatient or case‑management settings.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    RN.
  • Supervisor experience: none required.
Role Purpose

Coordinates, negotiates, procures and manages the care of patients to achieve quality, cost‑effective outcomes. Works collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary staff to identify and resolve issues. Provides consultation on Utilization Management and Performance Improvement to optimize patient value and reimbursement.

Responsibilities
  • Assesses, coordinates, and evaluates each patient’s plan of care.
  • Establishes, continuously evaluates, and documents individualized discharge plans.
  • Ensures clinical documentation supports cost‑effective use of hospital resources.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma / Associate’s Degree.
  • Experience:

    none required.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    RN.
