POSITION TITLE: EPICC Recovery Coach
REPORTS TO: Community Clinical Director

POSITION SUMMARY
Join the dynamic and expanding Engaging Patients in Care Coordination (EPICC) team and assist in addressing the St. Louis region’s opioid epidemic. As a Recovery Coach for the EPICC Project, you will have the opportunity to work on a community collaboration with 5 treatment centers in the Eastern Region of Missouri. Potential Recovery Coaches/Peer Specialists should be prepared to outreach EPICC clients in the field, provide equitable service delivery to a diverse client population, complete data entry requirements in a timely manner, and manage agency-specific tasks and responsibilities.
This is a full-time position. Must possess Missouri Peer Specialist certification at time of hire or within 6 months of hire.
- Follow monthly Recovery Coach outreach schedule/plan;
Note:
coaches may be required to work a maximum of 2 weekends per month (rotating days off during the week) and will be required to maintain a flexible schedule to ensure 24/7 coverage. - Provide outreach to individuals who use opioids and motivate them/provide linkage to treatment services (via hospital ED, community-based outreaching, street outreach services, and in partnership with community-based referral sources as required).
- Coordinate connection to treatment and recovery support services and collaborate with current partners to eliminate barriers to long term recovery/treatment engagement.
- Accurately document outreaches in FAMCare Database the following business day after the outreach is completed.
- Follow-up with clients and treatment centers as needed to ensure the referral to services was completed and the client was connected/admitted to the agency
- Complete client follow-ups as needed to keep the client engaged or to re-engage as well as completing status updates at two weeks, 30 days, three months and six months post-outreach.
- Meet with Program Management regularly to debrief from on-call shifts, discuss cases and engagement strategies, and ensure proper form completion.
- Must work well in a team environment and willing to be flexible.
- Must have strong time management skills and be able to work independently.
- Must be willing to be on call (via shift work) to provide outreach contact within 60 minutes and travel throughout the Greater St. Louis region (including seven counties).
- Must be able to communicate well with others using clear verbal expression and thoughtful listening skills.
- Must remain flexible and adapt to workplace changes as needed.
- Must be comfortable working with diverse populations (including race, sexual orientation, religion, gender identity, etc.) and be committed to providing service delivery through an equity framework
- Must have good people-skills and easily build rapport with clients and co-workers.
- Must possess good time management skills to ensure all responsibilities are completed and maintained.
- Must adhere to the philosophy that medication assisted treatment is an appropriate form of treatment for people in recovery.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.
- Must possess Missouri Peer Specialist certification at time of hire or within 30 days of hire.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Previous lived experience with substance use. Former consumer of substance use treatment services is a plus. Must be in recovery for a minimum of two years.
Other Requirements:
- Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance.
- Must be able to pass background check or request an exception to the findings.
