We are seeking a Director of Development to help us fulfill the mission of SJHI. This position will report to the Executive Director.
This well networked partner will plan, guide, and evaluate the development efforts of the organization. The Director of Development is charged with ensuring that the overall approach to fundraising is organized and effective, maximizing results. The ideal person will foster positive relationships with donors and community members to engender support for SJHI. This role includes the direction and strategic organization of SJHI’s signature Raise the Roof event as well as any other events in the future.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record of creating, cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and community partners.
- Thorough experience in grant writing.
- Creative thinker who stays abreast of evolving trends in fundraising.
- Experience in managing and directing medium-to-large scale events.
- Ability to manage and oversee budgets.
- Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple activities to deadline.
- Proven track record of professionalism in all interactions.
- Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Set schedule established but event management may require time flexibility.
