Overview
We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven St. Louis Community Liaison to serve as the primary external representative for our Community Kitchen (CK). This full-time position requires a local professional with strong sales acumen who will be responsible for securing annual funding through various revenue streams while building and maintaining critical community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- External Relations & Fundraising (70%)
Serve as the primary public face of the Community Kitchen including rotary clubs, local government offices, major donors, and community organizations.
Develop and execute fundraising strategies to meet annual revenue targets through meal reimbursements, grants, individual donors, and corporate partnerships.
Cultivate and steward relationships with existing and prospective donors.
Present the CK mission and impact to various audiences through speaking engagements and meetings. - Partner Management (20%)
Identify, recruit, and onboard new feeding partner organizations.
Negotiate meal reimbursement rates and partnership terms.
Facilitate connections between on-site Managing Chef and feeding partners to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor partner satisfaction and address concerns proactively. - Internal Coordination (10%)
Maintain regular on-site presence at the Community Kitchen (minimum 2x per week).
Stay informed on kitchen operations, challenges, and success stories.
Collaborate with support team members specializing in grants, partnerships, donors, volunteers, and faith-based outreach.
Provide regular updates on fundraising progress and partnership status.
- Proven track record in sales, fundraising, or business development with demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets.
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
- Strong negotiation capabilities.
- Self-motivated with entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work independently while leveraging team resources.
- Deep commitment to addressing food insecurity in the community.
- Local residence and strong community connections preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit fundraising or social enterprise.
- Established relationships with local business and civic leaders.
- Background in hospitality, restaurant, or food service industry.
- Grant writing experience.
- Achievement of reaching annual fundraising goals.
- Number and quality of new partnerships established.
- Partner retention and satisfaction rates.
- Community engagement metrics.
