Overview
St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities, is hiring a Volunteer Coordinator. The Coordinator plays a crucial role in advancing the mission by maximizing unrestricted revenue through effective third-party fundraising initiatives and events organized by the Young Professionals Board. This position oversees the volunteer program, including recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to ensure a positive experience and meaningful engagement with the organization.
The core working hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.
- Recruit and assist groups hosting external fundraising events to benefit St. Patrick Center.
- Recruit, schedule, and manage volunteer support for daily ministry needs, events, casserole program, and third-party events; identify new volunteer opportunities for ministry.
- Identify and recruit Young Professionals Board members to be future leaders through fundraising, volunteering, and advocating for clients.
- Coordinate development of volunteer recognition, retention, and motivational programs.
- Work closely with ministry program managers to provide well-informed, well-trained, and well-managed volunteers.
- Represent St. Patrick Center in the community by speaking to businesses, churches, schools, and groups; attend volunteer fairs.
- Post event updates on St. Patrick Center social media channels.
- Provide event support; collaborate with event managers and volunteers; communicate with staff to achieve event success.
- Write and manage the St. Patrick Center volunteer newsletter and other communications as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in non-profit fundraising, special events, or working with volunteers.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal relations.
- Organization and time-management skills.
- Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Publisher, Word).
- Strong decision making and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a team and with a diverse range of personalities under pressure and deadlines.
- Collaborative team player who works well with coworkers, volunteers, and senior professionals.
