Annual Salary: $80,000 – $94,500 (based on experience, skills, and competencies).

For more than a century, Commerce Trust has been a leading provider of wealth management services, including financial planning, estate & tax planning, investment management, private banking, and trust administration. The trust is a division of Commerce Bank.

The main purpose of this position is to lead the development of short and long‑form marketing messages that engage high‑net‑worth clients and prospects with the Commerce Trust brand. You will concept and write compelling content, articulate Commerce Trust’s philosophy, differentiate our offerings, promote our capabilities, and support internal teams in using consistent brand messaging.

• Plan, develop, and write original copy for external and internal projects, promoting content, services, and team biographies.
• Interview subject matter experts and research market trends to gather insights for targeted messaging.
• Manage multiple promotional assignments, balancing strategic judgment, brand positioning, and tone across email, web, and digital collateral.
• Collaborate with private client officers, investment team members, product owners, and bank partners to translate complex concepts into engaging content.
• Navigate legal and compliance reviews to ensure deliverables meet regulatory requirements while preserving brand voice.
• Educate and support partners on brand voice, contribute to brand guidelines evolution, and proofread and QC content.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong copywriting skills across concept, headlines, promotional copy, calls to action, and long‑form content.
• Knowledge of marketing and advertising trends.
• Proficiency with content publishing platforms;
  Hub Spot preferred.
• Research and interview skills to gather insights.
• Command of language structure, formal and informal; consistent brand voice and tone.
• Adaptability across audience segments and distribution channels.
• Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading with minimal revisions.
• Self‑starter with high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Resilience and optimism aligned with Commerce’s culture and core values.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, creative writing, journalism, or related discipline.
• 6+ years of copywriting, journalism, content marketing, or related experience.
• Preferred:
  Experience in high‑net‑worth wealth management, investment, or asset management.
