Missouri Baptist Medical Center is recruting for a Foundation Director
This Director will manage a $70 million foundation. They will oversee a team of 4 and will need to have proven experience with strategically leading a foundation team.
This leader also needs to:
- Have the ability to develop and execute on an annual operational plan, and lead the team to success on Foundation-specific KPIs
- Meet the annual Foundation fundraising goal ($4.2M)
- Plan and execute the annual event gala
- Build and maintain good relationships with an external Foundation Board (plan effective agendas and work with the Board chair to ensure productive meetings and member engagement)
- Provide coaching/mentoring as needed to team members
- Demonstrate a history of being positive part of a collaborative team of peers: nursing and other direct care leaders, finance, marketing, HR
- Have progressive career growth in development, fundraising, and event planning
- Have Board experience
Missouri Baptist Medical Center
, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Responsible for strategy, planning and implementation of all fund development and major gift programs. Works with the Foundation Board and the Hospital Administration to identify and prioritize needs for funding in developing plans. The position develops and cultivates positive relationships with internal and external constituencies to foster philanthropic support of the Hospital Foundation.
Responsibilities- Supervises the development and integration of planned gift, major gift, special gift and annual fund solicitation strategies.
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- Plans, directs, evaluates, and implements the Foundation's direct response marketing programs for grateful patients and annual donors in coordination with the Director of Development.
- Oversees management of Foundation funds to ensure compliance with donor intent and fulfillment of hospital needs.
- Ensures proper recording of all contacts with prospects and the appropriate gift acknowledgement and stewardship of assigned donors.
- Assesses the fundraising potential of the Foundation through giving history, hospital departments and programs, and guilds to make solicitation assignments; and institutes metrics for measuring progress toward goals and for ensuring accountability.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
