Job Overview

We are looking for a motivational and qualified Back of House Manager to oversee our high‑performance team and support our General Manager.

As a leader, you will represent our brand and core values, help grow and develop direct reports, and prioritize customers, employees, and vendors while maintaining accountability to the business and General Manager.

About Taco Buddha

Taco Buddha is a concept influenced by great taco joints from Austin, Texas, evolved with globally influenced flavors, and rooted in New‑Mex‑Tex tradition. We opened our second location in June 2023 and are gearing up to open our third location in Botanical Heights, St. Louis.

Responsibilities
  • Represent and exemplify Taco Buddha’s core values.
  • Hire the right people, train and coach them, and encourage humble accountability.
  • Delegate tasks thoughtfully to empower direct reports and help them grow.
  • Maintain high‑performance operations that attract repeat customers through consistently excellent food quality and service.
  • Delegate to achieve results without micromanaging.
  • Create schedules aligned with labor budgets to cover all shifts.
  • Inventory and order non‑alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, maintaining cost‑of‑goods targets.
  • Ensure compliance with state and local food safety requirements and inspire staff to uphold these standards.
  • Support the General Manager in ensuring operations run efficiently.
  • Coordinate facility and equipment maintenance as needed.
  • Maintain standardization and consistency in food preparation and presentation.
Qualifications
  • Must have or be willing to obtain up‑to‑date Serv Safe certification.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong culinary knowledge.
  • Leadership and conflict resolution skills.
  • Physically able to work full shifts on feet and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling systems, POS systems, and inventory ordering systems.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus, but not required.
  • Able to work days, nights, and weekends.
