We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead and oversee accurate, timely bi-weekly payroll for a large, multi-state workforce. This role blends hands-on payroll leadership
, system ownership
, regulatory compliance
, and people management
, while partnering closely with Finance, HR, and operations.

You’ll serve as the payroll systems superuser
, ensure compliance with evolving payroll regulations, support audits, and continuously improve processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.

• Lead and ensure accurate, on-time bi-weekly payroll for 4,000+ employees
• Serve as superuser for timekeeping, scheduling, analytics, and payroll systems
• Oversee payroll tax filings, W-2s, and multi-state compliance
• Prepare and submit PBJ nurse staffing reports to CMS
• Manage payroll reconciliations and support internal/external audits
• Supervise, mentor, and develop payroll staff
• Analyze payroll practices and implement improved controls and efficiencies
• Collaborate cross-functionally and support employees with payroll inquiries

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business
  , or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of payroll experience in a large organization (2,000+ employees)
• 3+ years in a payroll leadership or manager role
• Experience with automated payroll and timekeeping systems
• Workday and Dimensions/Kronos preferred
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, functions)
• Deep understanding of payroll regulations and general ledger impacts
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
