Overview
Position Summary... What you''ll do... Develops communicates and leverages a strategic vision aligned with company market and local plans and tactics to direct the management team and management and hourly associates in facility operations merchandising and company direction. Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates in a facility that may present issues such as high turnover and recruiting challenges in a competitive market.
Upholds the company''s Open Door Policy by meeting with associates, listening to concerns, and driving consistency in responsiveness and resolution across managerial levels. Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, analyzes and interprets reports, and maintains asset protection and safety controls. Initiates and participates in community outreach programs in a high visibility environment. Drives the financial performance of the facility by achieving sales and profit goals and managing expenses.
Maintains store standards through the Academy training environment and supports associate engagement and development. Supports strategic initiatives and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Directs and develops the management team and hourly associates in facility operations, merchandising, and company direction.
- Leads recruitment, hiring, training, mentoring, succession planning, and performance evaluation in a dynamic market.
- Upholds Open Door Policy, addresses associate concerns, researches issues, and ensures responsive resolution across levels.
- Ensures compliance with policies and procedures, maintains safety and asset protection controls, and analyzes reports to guide actions.
- Develops and maintains relationships with federal, state, and local officials; communicates through community outreach programs and media relations per company guidelines.
- Drives financial performance, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls aligned to sales and market conditions.
- Oversees Academy training, store standards, and engagement of Academy associates in leadership and store activities.
- Develops and implements strategies to attract, develop, and retain a highly skilled workforce; supports mentorship, succession planning, and talent development.
- Promotes a culture of integrity, ethics, and a sense of belonging; supports the Open Door Policy and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

- Bachelor''s Degree and 2 years general management experience, including financial accountability and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and termination; OR 4 years general management experience, including financial accountability and 4 years’ experience supervising at least 50 nonexempt and at least 5 exempt associates/employees, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and termination.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
- For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state-specific requirements, may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
- Effective January 26, 2019 – associates must complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience as a Store Manager in various store complexities or high-volume retail management.
- Experience running a fresh or dry grocery area.
