The Custodian is responsible for the custodial work in and outside of the building and surrounding grounds. An employee in this position performs a variety of cleaning duties as well as minor maintenance tasks.

• Office Cleaning: empty wastebaskets; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors; dusting accessible surfaces; damp wiping glass and other specified areas.
• Cleaning and Servicing Restrooms: cleaning work inside restrooms that can be reached while standing on the floor; emptying waste receptacles; servicing soap dispensers, toilet paper holders, paper towel dispensers; dusting windowsills, ledges, grills; cleaning tile on walls, mirrors, shelves, dispensers, receptacles, stall partitions and doors; washing basins, commodes and urinals; polishing metal work; sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors.
• Cleaning of Kitchen and Break Room: emptying waste receptacles; servicing soap dispensers, toilet paper holders and towel dispensers; cleaning refrigerator and microwave; wiping table and chairs; sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors; cleaning counters and sinks.
• General Utility Work: activities such as shampooing, stripping, waxing and buffing floors; performing special cleaning necessitated by staff changes, vacating office space or special meetings; snow removal from sidewalks; cleaning up results of accidents; setting up and taking down items in conference rooms; wall washing; corridor and reception area cleaning.

Qualified candidates must meet the following criteria:

• High School graduate or G.E.D. required with at least one year of experience as a general Custodian.
• Must possess strong leadership ability, good human relations skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have good problem‑solving skills, be able to develop conceptual alternatives, and be willing to seek out and incorporate new methods.
• Must have own transportation, a clean driving record, and insurance verification.
• All employees must pass a background check through the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Works in office areas and throughout the facility, involves sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently. Employee may be required to work weekends and overnight shifts.

Full‑time employee receives vacation after one year of service, paid holidays, sick time, paid long‑term disability, and term life insurance. After 30 days of employment, the employee can participate in health, dental, vision insurance, short‑term disability, and other optional coverages.
