Overview
Position title: General Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Director of Physical Facilities and Stationery Engineering
Classification: Non-Exempt
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facility and equipment safely and efficiently.
Essential Functions- Oversees and performs repairs and general maintenance needs to the health center buildings according to work orders or verbal instructions. Identifies and requests parts and components needed to complete tasks.
- Works with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives in regards to the repair and replacement of equipment.
- Assists contractors and other personnel with connections and shut-offs for water and fire systems.
- Performs plumbing and electrical repairs including, but not limited to: changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts and installation of light fixtures.
- Assists environmental techs when needed in maintaining a clean and safe work environment including, but not limited to: debris/trash removal, heavy lifting/moving of materials and equipment, floor-sweeping and material storage.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Assists stationary engineers when needed for evening work for equipment that requires it.
- Comfortable working both independently and in small team.
- Must have reliable transportation

The role involves exposure to blood and blood-borne pathogens and/or physical risks, requiring OSHA training. Work environment includes medical/clinical and outdoor settings, with standard Environmental equipment used (phones, computers, mops & buckets). Expect possible extreme temperature fluctuations; site assignments may change and occasional overnight travel, evenings, and/or weekend hours may be required.
