Your role:

The HVAC Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and performance of Air Handlers, Chillers, Walk-In Cold Rooms, Freezer systems, periodic inspections of HVAC systems to ensure proper operation, and performance of daily checks/repairs in compliance with company and departmental Operating Procedures (OPs). Individual will work in a fast-paced, safety-oriented, team environment and will maintain records to comply with Good Documentation Practice requirements to include detailed documentation of work performed in both electronic and written form.

The incumbent will routinely use the Trackwise Quality Management System, SAP for work management, DWG True View and Teamwork drawing repository, Delta V, and other tools of the trade. For troubleshooting and HVAC building controls the incumbent will also utilized the Siemens Building Management System (BMS) to review alarm conditions, monitor trends for performance, investigate root causes of issues, and document alarm response.

Reporting to the GMP Technical Supervisor, incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of refrigeration, HVAC, and/or site utility equipment for the GMP facilities at the Cherokee site. Incumbent will engage in supporting operations functions and execution of maintenance tasks.

Hours of this position are 7:00am-3:30pm; M-F and at times you will work rotational on-call and overtime as needed.

  • Follow prescribed safety and environmental rules and regulations and maintain high quality cGMP standards
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Operations groups to ensure strict compliance with GMP guidelines and documentation always and to ensure that the equipment is maintained in GMP compliance
  • Expertly perform all types of industrial installation work and repair, predictive and reliability tasks, and other duties as assigned
  • Work with contract service providers and supports contractors executing maintenance activities
  • Respond to HVAC emergency breakdowns and alarms throughout the GMP facilities
  • Practice Good Documentation Practices and clearly communicate (written/oral) across management levels and departments

Who you are:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 3+ years’ industrial experience OR an Associate Degree in a technical discipline with 1+ years of industrial experience
  • Certification to handle, dispense, and recover ODS refrigerants

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the tools and materials of HVAC/Refrigeration
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot systems in an industrial environment
  • Experience or knowledge with DCS, PLC, and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS) control systems
  • Ability to plan and organize daily tasks
  • Interpersonal effectiveness
